The Children’s Clothing Swap gave
back, in more ways than one!!
by Angie Evans
Felicia LaRue had a free outreach article in the
Chisholm Trail Community News about their season-
al Children’s Clothing Shop. Afterwards, she wrote to
give her thanks for our help with her event. “Thank
you very much for the article you ran on October
25th about the Children’s Clothing Swap. Several
people told me they had seen the article. We had an
amazing event! In the past, we have averaged about
175 people for the three day event. This time we saw
more than 350 people come through the doors,’ she
wrote. She goes on to say, “In a community, people
don’t necessarily have to do great things to make a
difference. Each person, just doing what they
can
do
might make a huge difference to someone. Thank
you, again, for doing what you
could
do. It made a
huge difference to me.’.
Thank you Felicia for letting us be part of your
heartfelt missions and service to our community.
Please keep ‘ Just Because’ on south Hwy 81 in mind
for your coat donations.

Take a chance!
Tuesday Quilters that gather at the Duncan Senior
Citizens Center have created a “Garden Bouquet”,
whole cloth, queen size quilt that will be raffled off.
The quilt, that was hand painte with fabric paints,
was donated by Gayle Schwartz and is a quilt that
won a First Place ribbon at a recent quilt show.
Tickets are $1 each or six for $5. Proceeds will
benefit the Duncan Senior Citizens Center. Stop by
the office at 1110 North 7th in Duncan to view the
quilt and purchase tickets.
Are you gluten
sensitive or money
insensitive?
 The gluten free craze
is out of control. Market-
ers have jumped on it
to squeeze a little more
profit by charging more.
 Many foods, such
as avocados, that are
naturally gluten free are
being sold to the gull-
ible as gluten free, I have
even seen gluten free dog
food! A local gas station
is having some fun by
posting a sign that reads
“Our Gasoline is Gluten
Free.”
 The kicker is that only
a small fraction of the
population is gluten sen-
sitive. The rest are paying
a bonus to avoid a dietary
boogie man. The market-
ers are smiling.
