Oklahoma Turnpike Authority reminds
motorists and passengers to buckle up
There are approximately 27.5 million people who
do not buckle up while driving or riding in vehicles.
The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority is encouraging
motor vehicle safety through the use of seat belts.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration, “of the 37,461 people killed in motor
vehicle crashes in 2016, 48 percent were not wearing
seat belts.”
In Oklahoma, drivers and passengers are required
by law to use seat belts. All children under age 12 are
also required to use seat belts and weight-appropriate
car seats.
Buckling up is the most proactive way to protect
yourself before an accident. Ensure you and your pas-
sengers are properly secured before hitting the roads
by buckling up.
Are you wheezing
more .. and enjoy-
ing it less?
 Changes in weather mean
more allergens in the air.
As spring approaches, it’s
important to survey your
surroundings and eliminate
the culprits that cause aller-
gies to flare up at home or in
the office.
1. Pollen: Trees, ragweed
and grass release plenty of
2. Dust mites: Remember to
deep-clean your carpets, pil-
lowcases and mattress.
3. Mold: Check damp places
like bathrooms, baseboards
and basements.
An easy way to avoid bring-
ing allergens home:
1. Have doormats both in-
side and outside your entry-
2. Take off jackets, shoes
and scarves at the door.
3. Wash your hands often.
4. Keep hand sanitizer by
the door and at your desk.

Riding in Style
Angie Evans
Pacie is riding high and loving it in her
stylish VW Bus. With the air of a princess
followed by her proud dad, Mike and
her sweet and loyal mom, Susie, Pacie
couldn’t have it much better. Surrounded
by comfortable layers of plush blankies and
strapped in firmly by a VW body harness,
Pacie knows this ride was exclusively
made just her. Jim is the president of the
Oklahoma City VW Club. His love of VW’s
is matched only by his members. Jim has
a small pup that needed extra attention and
this remote control VW in true VW fashion
was the perfect answer. Since then he has
made others for his friends, including
Pacie’s. What better way to hit the road?
